"I was taking a year out after university to go travelling, so was looking for some work that would suit me until I was due to go away, which Databuild was perfect for. I also got to meet a lot of people my own age and have made some good friends from working there. The staff are really friendly, it helps that most of them started out as researchers themselves, which means they understand the work you're doing. There's potential to make some extra money by earning bonuses for project work which allowed me to save for travelling. Even though I wasn’t planning on a career in research, the skills I acquired through working at Databuild such as the ability to listen, analyse and be persistent, are attributes valued in any profession. Carrying out research on behalf of government bodies also means the work you do is more credible. After I came back from travelling I chose to return to Databuild whilst I was looking for a job in journalism because I knew they'd welcome me back and that the work was better than other temp jobs I could have done".
