Qualification and Skills
Catherine has a joint honours degree in Mathematics and French and a teaching qualification. She has formidable aptitude in qualitative research and focus group moderation and excellent communication and analytical skills.
Background and experience
After teaching French in secondary school Catherine joined Databuild in 2000 as a researcher. She quickly demonstrated outstanding ability to achieve high quality interviews with a wide range of respondents. In January 2001 she became a permanent member of staff. Her strong analytical abilities have been honed through management roles on a wide range of projects, during which she gained extensive experience in face to face interviewing and focus group moderating.
She now uses her comprehensive understanding of the research process and her communication skills to specialise in qualitative research; carrying out depth interviews, moderating focus groups and analysing qualitative information. In addition to her expertise in research she uses her experience as a teacher to work with other members of the team training and coaching them to produce high quality interviews.
